Ava is now open in North Oakland, after having left its original East Liberty location in July 2013. Breakfast & lunch is served weekdays in the ground floor cafe, with occasional BYOB evening events (Calendar).
Ava owner Justin Strong and general manager Anand Young have teamed up with Jilly MacDowell (of Quiet Storm Cafe) to bring essential coffee and globally inspired food & drink to the North Craig Street corridor. Vegetarian & vegan offerings are featured along with responsible meats & seafood.
The second floor kitchen & lounge is currently under construction. Regular evening hours featuring shared plate dining, liquor & entertainment coming in Spring 2014.
