No.5: Microwave Popcorn

The jury is still out on whether using a microwave to heat your food is a healthy option. Microwave aside, the FDA recently announced that the chemical coating that lines popcorn bags breaks down during heating into a perfluorooctanoic (PFOA), a likely carcinogen. Add that to the ridiculously high sodium and the chemical diacetyl (used in the fake butter flavoring), and you’ve got a chemical concoction more fit for a science class than a movie night.
