About this restaurant

Yuki Sushi

It was 1987, when the search was on. Nobuko Hamano-Der, who immigrated from Japan was searching for a place to start a dream. She wanted to have a place to cultivate her love of executing fine Japanese cuisine in the United States. On September 15, 1987, the Old Teriyaki House that sat on Pruneridge Avenue in Santa Clara became Yuki Sushi.

When the doors opened, the restaurant brought a sharp focus bringing fine sushi to the heart of Silicon Valley. People came to enjoy notable traditional Japanese hospitality complimented with great food to create a wonderful dining experience. After 20 years of being established, the dream expanded into wanting a second location.

Few places around the Bay Area were scouted out, but ultimately it was the close-knit community of Willow Glen turned up an opportunity for the second location. On August 21, 2009, the coy little cat winked a hello to hungry masses in San Jose, California. The two locations are still a proud family affair bounded by a rich tradition of excellence. The Santa Clara location cherishes its traditional roots while Willow Glen flourishes in its flair for new culinary inspirations on classic Japanese dishes.

The Yuki Sushi experience is personal. We have deep roots in the communities we are located and are proud to be a part of them.
